As far back as I can remember, I always loved being outdoors. The open-air provided a comforting freedom and a near limitlessness to what was possible. I had to be on my bicycle all the time, as a child I quickly graduated off of training wheels and from then on it was tough to keep me indoors. Early adventures spanned my local neighbourhood by foot and bike. At home, my daydreams were filled with far-away escapades or riding the Tour de France.
As an adult, I’ve been fortunate to fulfill some of my childhood dreams from cycling in the Andes to swimming in Costa Rica or getting lost in New York City. I still continue to dream, but now a dream is a plan for the next experience. I couldn’t have even imagined this as a kid.
However, it is not always about looking forward. I often think when an adventure ends, the journey is not over. Sharing stories keeps the experience alive for a lifetime. Reliving exciting moments and the lessons learned, not just my own but of others too, can bring so much joy.
This space will be used to share some of my stories through words and photos, I hope you enjoy.
Thanks for coming along on the ride!
